Contact An Experienced Team of Birth Injury Attorneys
Did you know that approximately one in three deliveries in the U.S. occurs by C-section? According to statistics from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 32% of births in the U.S. in 2015 were Cesarean deliveries. Some say this high rate can be attributed to doctors trying to take extra precautions with twins, triplets, and breech deliveries, and to avoid potentially complicated births. But what happens when a C-section is performed improperly or delayed? Mistakes can be costly, resulting in significant birth injuries.
If you or your child suffered due to a C-section error, a birth injury lawyer at The Sanders Firm can offer guidance. Our firm has a long history of handling complex medical malpractice claims, including those involving Cesarean deliveries. We can answer your questions, review medical records, and help you seek justice.

Types of C-Section Errors & Malpractice
When it comes to C-sections, there are two primary types of malpractice that may be involved:
- Failure to recommend a C-section in a timely manner (delayed C-section).
- Improperly performed C-section (mistake or error made during or after the procedure).
Both types of C-section mistakes are extremely serious. A delayed C-section may leave an infant with irreversible brain damage due to oxygen deprivation, or a serious brachial plexus injury due to a difficult birth. A mistake in performing a C-section can cause organ perforation, severe bleeding, and other significant trauma. Immediate treatment and ongoing care, possibly for the rest of the child’s life, may be required.
